Oh where oh where did my van go??
Our youth pastor for many years ( I think like thirty something years) began a new church this week. Its in a small community between Heber ( 10 miles or so) and about five miles from our house. This youth pastor, Jeremy grew up under him. This family means so much to us and we want our children to be under their leadership as well. The first service was Sunday from three pm until five pm in which we went to. They had about 100 people there, it was GREAT! On Tuesday, they're holding their midweek service. Jeremy and the kids and I decided to go to that one as well. We took my mini van and about a half of mile from the church, we ran out of gas. I called my best friend and she came and got us. After church, Jeremy decided, we would go and put gas in the van.Well, church service was wonderful. The family was there of the youth pastor. ( His mom and dad and son and daughter in law, and their four kids ( these are mine and Jeremy's best friends) still live on the property.) They had one couple visiting from Heber. After Brother B. shook their hands, he and Jeremy left to put gas in my mini van. When they got to where the van should have been, it wasn't there. It had been towed! ( This is only an hour after we had left it)People had been trying to get a hold of Jeremy and I for a couple of hours. My phone was at the house ( thankfully) and Jeremy was in the van.About ten minutes after we left the house, a policeman drove by and saw the van tires were BARELY on the white line. He found that it was a hazard and called for volunteer fire department to do traffic control. The town where we broke down at is just really a community of maybe 100 people, but I don't even think that it is that big. The dispatcher that was on call, her brother and sister in law are friends of mine and Jeremy. The volunteer fire people they sent out were this dispatcher's and brother's parents. Anyway, the dispatcher called our friends and they were looking for Jeremy and I. Also, my mom's boss heard it on the scanner and called my mom. My mom began calling mine and Jeremy's phones with no avail. She called Jeremy's dad. He finally thought to call the new Pastor's home phone and their cell phone number was on the answering machine and he called that and found us. During this time, my mom had called someone that worked with her and lives down the street from us. They went to my van and then also to our house trying to find us. My mom was really worried since we were not answering any of our phones. Also, a lady from our church was working at the city hall that night and was in another room when all of this commotion began. She walked in and the dispatcher told her they were looking for Jeremy and I. She said, I bet I know where they are... and also called the friend's cell phone.Jeremy came home and got our truck. The towing people were going to charge us 200 dollars to get our van out but the dispatcher talked him down to 65 dollars! Isn't that a blessing!!! We got our van out on Wednesday morning about eight o clock and insurance paid us back for tow charge. Jeremy and I celebrated him being off and getting my van back by going to breakfast together..... I am so thankful for my mini van!!!
