Okay, now that I think back on my night last night, pictures would have been great!!! Maybe I can reenact it sometime!
Please put on your imagination caps. Sit back, Enjoy the Show....
We've had one crazy weekend here in the Adams' family home. We have had sick kids and a momma that's not felt well either. We had decided to do some major cleaning ( when I say "WE" I really mean "Jeremy" because I would just as soon shove it under the bed and let sleeping books lie, well, really they should tell the truth, anyway... back to topic!)
So, we missed Sunday morning services because we had sick kids, a momma that wasn't feeling well and a daddy who's back was hurting!
On Sunday night, Jeremy was into major cleaning and I was ready to run out of the house and let him have at it! We decided to have Abigail and Josiah to stay at home with Jeremy because they were running temperatures. Well, there was only one problem with ME going to church and JEREMY staying at home. Actually, two... ( I mean, come on now, you do want me to tell the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH and NOTHING BUT the TRUTH, right?!) Okay, so one issue was that Josiah is NOT bottle fed and by about thirty minutes from walking out the door, I was feeling the pain.
But the second issue, the one that was prevalent, was the fact that on Sunday and Wednesday nights, Jeremy drives the Handicap bus, for the elderly, at church. ( And NO PUNS please on Handicap and My sweet Hubby or ME for that matter)
Well, you don't have to have a C.D.L. to drive this bus. Normally, Jeremy asks someone in the church to do it, ( and by SOMEONE I mean a man in the church.) Okay, well, he did ask SOMEONE in our church to drive the bus... the person was sort of a man, in the sense that "MAN" is at the end of WO"MAN" and this WOMAN whom he ask to drive the bus, happened to be his wife... Yeah, that would be ME! Okay, I SO don't know what Jeremy was or was not thinking at the time of him asking me to do this task. Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE to help out in our church and be of any assistance that I can, but THIS IS A BIG BUS... a whole 15 passenger and I do good at getting my mini van in and out of some of these places. And let me make mention of this, though its been about 12 years ago since its happened. I have sort of wrecked TWO vehicles in my entire life. I say sort of, because all I did with one is side swipe a tree ( There is still a dent in that tree, at Triple "S" Christian Ranch) and then the other time, Jeremy had just bought me a car while we were dating... It was night and there were trees on each side of his driveway and it was dark.. I couldn't see behind me, so I opened the door to get a better look. I didn't see the tree and my door caught this little bitty tree and it buckled my door... so needless to say, I am a little leery of driving white vehicles, especially, if I don't own them. But I will say, on my behalf, that Jeremy had a white S10 for 7 years and I have had my white mini van for 2 years now and I have yet to wreck either of them, so perhaps it was a teenage phase that I went through, that I have maturely outgrown... Maybe....
Oh yeah, back to the story....
So I am driving the shuttle bus. I was so hoping that someone would come to church early and relieve me of my duties. Like I said, I really didn't mind doing this, but there are a few driveways that I do good to get my mini van in and out of, much less a shuttle bus...
Okay, so stop number one. Mrs. E. She's a sweet lady, who dearly loves the Lord. Her daughter pushes her out of the house in a wheelchair and I am suppose to let down the lift. Well, it didn't work. Great, its my first stop and the lift doesn't work. Mrs. E just burst out laughing... she said, Amie, first you must turn on the bus.... I had taken the keys with me, so no one stole our shuttle bus... okay mistake one.. its alright! ( Now I know, to make the lift work, insert key!)
So I get Mrs. E loaded in and its off to my next stop.
Stop number two is at Mrs. B's apartment. Now, Jeremy he can just slide that bus right in! Not me. He pulls it in and backs it up and lets down the lift for Mrs. B. That I can not do. I pull the shuttle in, but I stay sideways in the driveway and tell her that I am sorry, but I am not as talented as Jeremy with this whole shuttle driving business! She just chuckles, the way only Mrs. B can do and gets on the lift and UP we go! She sits down and its now time to try to back this shuttle out of the driveway. All clear?! Yes, there are no children, cars, or trees in my path! We make it to the road and its now time to back onto the road. We're still clear. PRAISE THE LORD! I finally get onto the road and we're off to our third stop! Now, at Ms. D's house, its a lot easier because I pick her up at the governmental housing and where she's at, no one has a vehicles so I have PLENTY of room to scoot myself in! She walks up the stairs, but I can't get the doors to open! What kinda of deal is this, even my THREE year old son can open this door! I hear Mrs. B chuckling in the back! She says "Amie, you have to lift up on the silver piece first!" Well, she's right, because then the doors open right up! Boy, I am sure happy I have these Godly, Wise, Women on board with me.
The fourth and last stop for the night is Mrs. R's house! Mrs. R and I are really close friends. We do EVERYTHING together! When I get in town, we even go to Happy Hour at Sonic together.( That's a restaurant for those of you who don't know. From 2-4pm, seven days a week, you can get soft drinks and slushes half off) ( HEY LOOK AT THIS SONIC....FREE ADVERTISING!!!!)
Who was the SANE Friend who ask me to start a blog... really WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!
Oh yeah, TOPIC...
Okay, so I call Mrs. R ahead of time to let her know I am on my way. I then realize that she thinks that I am in my mini van. I correct her and let her know that I am driving the shuttle bus! She was like, YOU, YOU'RE DRIVING?! Oh you should have heard the SHOCK in her voice... it was priceless!! I did inform her that I was STAYING in the road when I got to her house. She has a pile of rocks on each side of her driveway. I do good to get my minivan in and out of her driveway, much less a shuttle bus! Oh, and there is this nice sharp curve RIGHT before her driveway... so we have got to make this quick! So I have Mrs. E and Mrs. B make sure that the lift is where it should be in the driveway. I then get out and let the lift down, only to realize that I can't make the lift go all the way down or I will hit the pile of rocks. So I have to put the lift back up, shut the doors, get back in the bus, put it in reverse, stop, put it in park, go back around, open the doors, put the lift down and get Mrs. R on the bus.
We even went down a big HILL on the way to church. Ms. D start yelling... THROW YOUR HANDS UP IN THE AIR....its a ROLLER COASTER RIDE!
Oh my goodness, what a night. Yes, I did get the to the church safe and sound. I did NOT however take them home. I love these ladies dearly, but I can't stand to drive at night, even my mini van..so I put them safely in the hands of Jeremy's best friend ( you know, his guy hunting buddy best friend) and we all slept soundly... BUT OH WHAT A NIGHT!

Hey now, I am NOT sane...although I'm sure you meant that sarcastically. So since you can make jabs at ME then can I make jabs about you and Germy...I mean Jeremy driving the handicapped bus? I guess I shouldn't though, because technically I'd qualify for it with my walker...lol!
You were right...reading it was WAY funnier than hearing you tell me the other night. This is priceless....and if you reenact I SOOOOO want pictures!
